This hawk was designed to extend from the knee to above the waist so it could follow the body’s natural curves. The wing creates a sense of movement and balance, using proportions similar to the golden ratio. Floral elements help shape the negative space and keep the hawk from feeling like it’s floating on the leg. Carrying the design upward also helps elongate the body and avoids the cut-off look that can happen with more isolated placements.
