FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What You Need to Know

HOW DOES THE DEPOSIT WORK?

  • All tattoo deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.

  • Failure to attend a scheduled appointment results in forfeiture of the deposit. A new deposit is required to book a new appointment.

  • Appointments rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice will have the deposit applied to the new date.

  • If an appointment is cancelled and not rescheduled at that time, the deposit will be held for 30 days. If a new appointment is not booked within 30 days of cancellation, the deposit is forfeited.

  • Deposits are non-transferable and may not be used by another person.

  • Any pre-payments made toward a tattoo are subject to the same terms and conditions as the deposit.

  • For tattoos requiring multiple appointments, a retainer deposit (minimum $100) is held and applied only to the final session, not deducted from earlier appointments.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO GET A TATTOO?

Tattoo pricing is determined on a per-project basis and varies with complexity, placement, and scope of work.

The minimum charge to book an appointment is $174 + tax. Standard rates in Nova Scotia are $174/hour + tax. Rates may be higher when working out of town or at conventions.

After a consultation, a general estimate of cost and time required can usually be provided.

I FOUND A PICTURE OF SOMEONE ELSE'S TATTOO ON THE INTERNET; CAN I GET THE SAME ONE?

Reference images are welcome and helpful. Existing tattoos are not traced or copied.

If you have photos or ideas from tattoos you’ve seen before, you may email them or bring them to a consultation. These will be used as visual reference only, allowing a new design to be created in a similar direction and in the artist’s established style. The final design will be original and custom to you.

CAN MY FRIENDS WATCH?

One friend or family member may be present in the room for support. Space is limited to one guest per client.

Children are not permitted in the tattoo studio.

Guests are expected to remain calm and quiet, as tattooing requires a high level of concentration and focus.

IS EVERYTHING STERILIZED?  HOW DO I KNOW I'M SAFE?

All tattoo needles, tubes, and grips are single-use and disposed of immediately after each session. These items are prepackaged and sterilized by the manufacturer. The use of single-use equipment minimizes the risk associated with improperly sterilized tools.

Annual training is completed in Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Prevention, including aseptic technique. This training is essential for protecting both client and artist from cross-contamination.
